"Pup"
Daniel’s Mini Aussies is located in the beautiful hills of Salt Rock, West Virginia—the ultimate small town where we all know one another.
So why an Aussie? We were first introduced to this amazing breed many years ago when Nathaniel, Daniel’s older brother, had a critical illness. A good friend and neighbor had just had a litter of these beautiful fuzzy pups and gave Nathaniel first pick when he came home from the hospital. Officially named “Tracks” the puppy soon became just “Pup” and grew into a remarkable red merle.
Pup was our constant companion and friend, the ultimate Velcro dog, until he passed away at the age of 14 years. After viewing hundreds of pictures and reading numerous articles, we found that we had a prize dog in Pup. Not only was he very intelligent, but he also had good conformation, was beautifully marked and had a great personality. The herding instinct came natural to him. He was a loyal, loving companion who was happy either "working" with the goats or just lying at our feet.
They say hindsight is 20/20, so now we are hoping to achieve those same special qualities we found in Pup in our future generations of Mini Aussies. Our dogs live with us, travel with us, and are considered part of our family. Each pup born under our roof (literally!) is treated with loving care.
